What's The Buzz
The “What’s the Buzz?” social skills program addresses the challenges some children face in making friends and fitting in socially. Tailored for Early Learners (ages 4-7) and Primary students (ages 8-12), the program employs role play, quizzes, discussions, and play-based learning to impart crucial life lessons.
Focusing on self-awareness and identity, the program tackles common anxieties and sensitivities experienced by young individuals. Students learn to interpret emotional cues, express empathy, and cultivate meaningful relationships. Key topics include making friends, embracing differences, managing anger and sadness, handling peer pressure, coping with worry, asserting boundaries by saying ‘no,’ and fostering a positive mindset.
Implemented at Huntfield Heights School P-6, the program combines whole class lessons and small group sessions, tailored to individual student needs. As the program unfolds, it’s heartening to witness youngsters adopting new strategies for self-regulation, improving relationship management, and gaining confidence in various everyday scenarios.
We at Huntfield Heights School P-6 recognise the Kaurna people.
They are the traditional owners of the Adelaide plains in South Australia.
They are the land owners from a long time ago.
We recognise that the Kaurna people are still alive today.
We the students of Huntfield Heights School P-6 recognise that Kaurna people still embrace and long for their land, beliefs and way of life.
This we recognise.
We walk in their footsteps
